The Best Digiperm

In the last 5 years, I've had three different "digiperm" experiences with three different salons already . In 2007, I went to Jessie Mendez Salon at Robinsons Metro East and underwent a 4-hour procedure that ended with a hair treatment to mitigate the potential damage. My hair was long back then, up to the bra-line if I recall. Since it was my very first time to get a perm, I felt excited and was quite satisfied with the service. The perm lasted for about six months then I had it rebonded again afterwards. The sytle of Jessie Mendez is to curl most of your hair except the upper portion. To get the "wet and wild" look effect, they recommended this Loreal curl mousse to lock my curls all day and make them well-defined. Just like rebonded hair, digiperm requires low maintenance since it's one of those "wash and wear" type of hairstyle which you don't even need to comb or brush. This was how I looked back then. After six months, I've retained a rebonded hair for the most part until mid-2010 when I decided to try once more the digipermed hair, this time at the famous Korean salon Tony n' Jackey. Their style is almost similar to Jessie Mendez, but half the price. Yup, Jessie Mendez salon charged me almost 10K back in 2007 while I only paid 5K at Tony n' Jackey, complete with all the treatment. My stylist Hani was very very nice and she did most of the procedure, without relying too much on the staff. After the service she recommended this Korean shine hair wax which I was supposed to apply to my curls for that shiny effect. This was how I looked after.

Once again, I was so happy with the service because it didn't require me much work after shower...I just let my hair air-dry and that's it, eveything just falls into place and even though sometimes it looked wild and unruly, I didn't mind because it gave my hair a lot of volume which it needed. But after six months, I started feeling tired of my look once more and finally gave in to my burning desire to try this other Korean Salon, famous for its digiperm....Shine Girls at Makati Avenue, a hole-in-the-wall place but very much in demand because of its excellent reputation. What I liked about the service was the fact that they let me decide which part I would like to be curled, it wasn't default. I told them I only want the bottom part. So what my stylist Jina did (I think she's the owner too) was to actually rebond my upper part including the bangs and only digipermed the lower section. The procedure lasted for about 4 hours but I was so pleasantly surprised with the effect! For only P3,500 (the cheapest of all three), I got the best of both worlds...the order and beauty of rebond combined with the chaos and sexiness of digiperm! My hair looked much shinier and healthier as she also applied a special medicinal treatment. Super love it and I can honestly say it's the best! Shine girls truly shine!!! This was how I looked after coming out of the salon...

And about 2 weeks after the procedure, this is how I currently look...extremely satisfied with my straight/curl effect look!

  2. How I wish my experience was same as yours. Mine turned out bad. I availed the digiperm service of EdwinLisa Salon at their JP Rizal branch in Makati using the Metrodeal voucher. It was a total of almost 6hrs of procedure and it cost me 4k (incl. root color, treatment, half rebond) but the result was frustrating. I was told that I’m okay to leave even if my hair was still dripping wet and was applied with 10-12pumps of curling lotion. When my hair finally dried, it was so stiff and heavy. My hair looked so messy and frizzy. I don’t know what to do with my hair now, I even messaged the fb page of EdwinLisa but they did not reply. I had my digiperm at a Korean Salon last year but the result was beautiful and it even cost me less (ensogo voucher 1.8k only).
